Location:  Coming from US Hwy 12, take the Walla Walla Community College exit.  From Hwy 12 eastbound, turn left on Airport Rd.  From Hwy 12 westbound, turn left on Airport Rd.  Proceed approx. 0.6 mi on Airport Rd past E. Isaacs Ave on Tausick Way, then turn left on Reservoir Rd. and follow the signs to Bennington Lake (approx. 1.5 mi.)

The Course:
1.5 km Swim
The Triathlon begins at Bennington Lake where competitors will begin with a 1.5 km (2 loop)swim. Water temperature is expected to be approximately 65-68 degrees. Wetsuits are encouraged.

40 km Bike The bike course will be the same as 2022 - an out and back scenic along the foothills of the Blue Mountains. From the lake, bikers will head down Reservoir Rd. turning right on Tausick Way. Then you will turn right onto Campus Loop through the Walla Walla Community College campus to E. Isaacs Ave. From there you will turn right on E. Isaacs Ave. which will become Mill Creek Rd.  Turn right onto Five Mile Road and continue straight down Russell Creek Rd. to the turn around at Berney Drive.  Proceed back on Russell Creek Rd, turning right for a short 1 mile up and back on Scenic Loop Rd., then right back onto Five Mile Rd., left onto Mill Creek Rd. and return the same direction you went out.  

10 km Run The run will be a moderate course on a dirt trail, gravel road and the bike path through Rooks Park down to the turn around point near Tausick Way returning along the same route with no major hills.

Pre-Race Meeting:
All participants must attend this meeting which will begin promptly at 8:30 am at Bennington Lake (the starting point for the race).

Registration:
Registration for the 2023 race is now open.  Entry fee is $90.00 for individuals, $145.00 two person teams and $240.00 for three person teams. The race will include Athena and Clydesdale categories.  All competitors will receive (more info to come) and post-race lunch. Extra meal tickets are $15.00 each and can be purchased ahead of time at sign up or day of race at meal.  Registration will be limited to 325 participants, so register early. There will be a $20.00 price increase on registrations after April 10, 2022. No day of race registration and no wait list available if race fills. No refunds and no deferrals.

USA Triathlon Event:
The Onion Man Triathlon race is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned event.  If you are a USAT member you will need to enter your number on the registration page. If you are not a member you will need to click on the one day license for $15.00. Here is the link if you would like to purchase a one year membership.
